Sculpture
Studio 11, May - July
Using her own history as an autobiographical staring point, Marsha Pels interconnects with the physical reality and the history of other places in the world. Always seeking environments outside her New York studio in which to draw inspiration, Marsha explores the idea of “place”. She uses cast, found or fabricated objects in combination with light and recently sound, in temporary or permanent site-specific interior installations, outdoor sculptures or object-centered series. Upon arrival in a new environment Marsha researches the history of the place. Using both traditional and non-traditional materials she then expresses her ideas to create landscapes incorporating themes of memory, gender and identity.
The Process Room
Marsha Pel's work was shown in the Process Room from June 28 until July 21 2004.
