All things are mortal and ephemeral, not just life but also marble and bronze, mountains and stars. The works of Robert Janz explore and comment on aspects of motion, change and transience. Many of these works are highly temporary, such as his water drawings on rock, which evaporate away as he sketches. Other works, paintings and ink drawings, explore in serial form the flux and temporality of life. In recent years Robert has devoted increasing energy to his “comix” cartoon strip drawings.
The Process Room
Robert Janz's work created while on the Artist Residency Programme was shown in the Process Room, West Wing First Floor Galleries in 2005 .
