Yasser Aggour (USA)

Yasser Aggour, SalwaStudio 3B
June to September
sculpture/performance/photography
Yasser Aggours art has emerged from a peculiar chrysalis: economic, social and intellectual history, dandyism, the legacies of performance and conceptual art, and over-exposure to erectile dysfunction commercials. While Yasser has a decidedly unsystematized approach — one may even describe his practice as promiscuous — the images he produces do share an interrogation on the nature of photography.  Yasser’s intention is to create a bewilderingly diverse body of work that is psychologically charged and leavened with sweet perversity. And while a bewildering number of concerns are ventilated, the work is first and foremost an attempt to make photographs that grab and warrant retinal attention.

The Process Room

Yasser Aggour's work was shown in the Process Room from August 15 to September 4 2005.
