Tullamore Arts Office, Áras an Chontae, Tullamore, Co Offaly
This exhibition is the result of collaboration between Offaly County Arts Office, the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The Arts Office initiated an artist in residency programme throughout the county which enabled artists Julie Spollen and Tom Meskall to facilitate a series of workshops with members of the Irish Wheelchair Association. Workshops included visits to the Museum and interaction with both the temporary exhibitions and the Museum’s Collection. Drawing inspiration from the Collection, the group made a response to their chosen work thus developing their own artistic practice. The selected work from the Collection, including artists Dorothy Cross, Peter Doig, Stephen McKenna and Patrick Hall, will be exhibited in Áras an Chontae alongside work produced by the group.
