Lecture: Catching up with the West: Becoming Modern in South Asia
Thursday 3 May at 5.30pm, The Chapel.  
Pankaj Mishra, Indian born writer, mixes memoir, reportage, history and philosophy in his writing.  Mishra's most recent book is Temptations of the West: How to be Modern in India, Pakistan, and Beyond , which discusses the fate of western-style modernity in South Asian countries.
