What lies beneath the surface presents work by artists such as Robert Ballagh, Mark Francis, Louis le Brocquy and Patrick Scott.

Founded in 2000, the Tipperary Institute Arts Forum actively promotes, supports and creates access opportunities to the arts at both local and national level. The Arts Forum regularly organises exhibitions at the Tipperary Institute Thurles Campus and has initiated the establishment of a Tipperary Institute Art Collection The Rural Ireland Collection. In addition, it has also overseen the selection and installation of public art at both its Thurles and Clonmel campuses under the Per Cent for Art Scheme in 2001/2002.

The exhibition is accompanied by a series of gallery talks aimed at second level certificate art students.
