Nissan Art Project : For Dublin
The 1997 Nissan Art Project comprised nine manifestations in neon from Joyce's Ulysses by Irish-born artist Frances Hegarty and British installation artist Andrew Stones. The project, entitled For Dublin, presented extracts from Molly Bloom's monologue in nine city centre locations, each one specially selected to counterpoint and add resonance to the texts. Sponsored by Nissan Ireland in association with the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the project is designed to promote art in the public domain and is one of the largest visual arts sponsorships in the country.
