Festival Events taking place at IMMA, Royal Hosptial Kilmainham
SATURDAY 25 AUGUST
10.30am -11.45am: Outdoor Tai Chi Workshop in the grounds of IMMA
12noon: Walk n’ Talk Event with Historian Pat Liddy
Pat Liddy will lead a walk through the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Followed by a special lunch in La Dolce Vita restaurant with classical guitarist Dermot Ryan.
12noon -1.00pm: Children’s Art Workshops
Art workshops (age group 4 to 8 year olds in Studio 9 and age group 9 to 12 year olds in Studio 10) with Beth O’Halloran, artist, and Stephen Taylor, IMMA mediator. Maximum participants per session 20 children.
12noon - 1.30pm: Release your Inner Celt Medieval sword fighting workshop with Adam Duggan in IMMA’s Courtyard.
2.00pm and 4.00pm: Guided Heritage Tours of the RHK
Michael Wardick will give guided heritage tours of the North Range of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
2.30pm - 5.00pm: TeenCreate Workshop for 12-15 year olds
Artist Beth O'Halloran will lead a gallery discussion and workshop based on Garrett Phelan’s solo exhibition NEW FAITH LOVE SONG. This exhibition features Phelan's most recent project which stems from a collaboration between the bell ringers of St. Patrick’s and Christ Church cathedrals who on 21 June performed a composition written by Phelan. The workshop will focus on the artist’s animations and core concepts, and participants will be invited to create their own simple scroll animations encased in small black boxes, mimicking miniature cinemas. SUNDAY 26 AUGUST
2.00pm: Tour of Bully's Acre
4.00pm: Guided Heritage Tour of the RHK
At 2.00pm Michael Wardick will give a guided tour of Bully's Acre, one of Dublin's oldest burial grounds, and at 4.00pm Wardick will give a guided heritage tour of the North Range of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
2.00pm – 5.00pm: Family Fun Time
An outdoor event facilitated by the Sports Development Section, Dublin City Council, catering for children, parents and families with lots of fun promised through interactive games and play.
2.00pm - 4.00pm: Explorer Heritage Family Programme
The event welcomes families to explore the historic buildings and formal gardens of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham accompanied by Gallery staff. Families can also make art inspired by their discoveries from the tour of buildings and grounds. No booking required, on a first come first served basis.
