VISIT THE IRISH MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (IMMA)
Throughout the school year, IMMA is free to visit for individuals and groups. Up to five exhibitions of modern and new art are open to the public. IMMA is situated on the historic grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, which include a formal garden, large meadows and artists’ studios and residence. IMMA is walking distance from both Kilmainham Gaol and the National Museum at Collins Barracks. Prior to a class visit, teachers may wish to visit an exhibition to check its relevance to the age or stage of development of their group. On school days, IMMA and its grounds are open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 10.00am and Wednesday from 10.30am. IMMA is open on Saturday from 10.00am and on Sunday from 12noon.
