The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) wishes to advise visitors that, owing to essential and extensive refurbishment works, the main building at IMMA will be closed from 1 November 2011 until 31 December 2012.
Exhibitions are continuing in the New Galleries and the Artists’ Residency Programme also continues on site during the closure. The café, bookshop and grounds is also remaining open to visitors. From April 2012, IMMA will also be presenting exhibitions and projects in Earlsfort Terrace, Dublin 2. IMMA’s successful National Programme will continue in venues around Ireland, North and South.

Buses to Heuston Station (5 minutes walk via Military Rd): 26 from Wellington Quay; 51, 79 from Aston Quay; 90 Dart Feeder Bus from Connolly and Tara Street Stations to Heuston Station.
Buses to James St (5 minutes walk via steps to Bow Lane onto Irwin St and Military Rd): 123 from O’Connell St/Dame St; 51B, 78A from Aston Quay.
By car:
10 minute drive from city centre. Parking Only 1 Euro for up to three hours.
New Parking Arrangements:
Due to an increasing problem with non-Museum visitors leaving their vehicles in the IMMA car park for lengthy periods, the Museum has put in place a carefully-structured payment system, which is being operated by Park Rite. This system is designed to deter long-term parking while at the same time facilitating IMMA visitors with an initial charge of just €1 for the first three hours.

Approximately 30 to 40 minutes from city centre.
By train:
5 minute walk from Heuston Station; from Connolly and Tara Street Stations by 90 bus to Heuston Station

Access to IMMA during closure of main building
The essential refurbishment works to the main building at IMMA will include creating wheelchair access to the First Floor Galleries. While the main building is closed the New Galleries, cafe and bookshop are all fully accessible to wheelchair users. Wheelchairs are available on request.
Adapted toilets, baby changing facilities and a locker room are available. A lunchroom for children’s groups is also available. Booking for the lunchroom is required at least two weeks in advance; please contact the information desk as above for more details.
