National Programme > How to get involved

Openings, 9 - 28 October 2003, Limerick School of Art & Design, Limerick, Co Limerick
All National Programme exhibitions are formed and organised in partnership with local venues and groups who are encouraged to explore and develop a sense of ownership of the Museum’s Collection as a national resource. Access opportunities for the general public are central to the programme and partner organisations are encouraged to develop existing audiences as well as creating new audiences.

The programme operates at various levels in terms of the size, content and scope with a variety of local contacts and venues both formal and informal, which includes local authorities, art centers, colleges, hospitals, voluntary committees, community organizations and other groups. Through the National Programme, this process allows for many spaces to be opened up to house artworks such as Siopa ns BhFíodóirí, Dingle, Co Kerry and St Caimins Church, Mountshannon, Co Clare. By shifting the emphasis and balance away from traditional centres of art, this strengthens regional opportunities, promotes links and relationships and can act as a catalyst for new ideas and projects.

If you wish to make a proposal please fill in the following application form and return to the Museum.
