Listen to Talks & Lectures
(External) You can listen back to a selection of previous Talks by visiting our (External) soundcloud channel . IMMA has a dynamic talks programme with regular contributions from artists, historians and curators, all discussing underlying themes from the Exhibitions and Collection programmes at IMMA.
Selected recordings are part of the IMMA Audio Archive in operation from 1991 to present.
The Engagement and Learning Department has initiated and participated in a range of projects and research to promote access to modern and contemporary art. Most projects are medium to long-term action-research projects intended to inform IMMA’s own policy development and practice and cultural policy development in general.
Art | Memory | Place Programme
Art | Memory | Place is a year-long programme of talks and events taking place over the course of 2015-16 in the context of the ‘decade of centenaries’. Focusing on artists whose work addresses themes relating to memory and place, the purpose of this programme is to broaden and deepen the current discussion about the subject of remembrance and commemoration and to take account of such work.
The What Is_? Programme
The What Is_? Programme aims to provide an introduction to some of the key concepts and themes in modern and contemporary art for a general audience. The programme comprises talks, booklets and web-based resources.
