The exhibition offers a snapshot of the scope of artistic attitudes towards the subject of drawing and working on/with paper. The works on display range from preparatory works on paper for existing sculptures to the book as object and motif, animation film and paper măché.
Artists include Edward Allington, Andrew Folan, Antony Gormley, Alice Maher, Hughie O’Donoghue, Kiki Smith, Kara Walker and Hermione Wiltshire. There is a special focus on the studio practice of veteran British sculptor Bill Woodrow who has lent preparatory and other works from his studio that situate his work from the 1980s to present day.
