Frequently Asked Questions

IMMA Talks + Events
Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book my seat?
Advance booking is essential for all events unless otherwise stated. Bookings are to be made online through the IMMA website.

To access ticket booking for an event you can visit the IMMA homepage for a list of the most recent upcoming talks, or visit the IMMA TALKS page for a complete listing. Simply find the event you are interested in and click on the ‘Book Now’ button to begin your booking process.

How do I know my booking has been successful?
Once you have completed your booking you will see a ‘BOOKING CONFIRMATION' screen that confirms your booking has been successful (see below)

You will also receive an automated ticket email to confirm your booking from support@imma.ie.  Please bring a print out of this email, or show the email on your mobile device, to guarantee entry.

What if I don’t receive the confirmation email?
Please note that the ticket confirmation email can sometimes end up in your junk or spam folder, so please check these folders if the email hasn’t arrived. If you book talks regularly please add the email ‘support@imma.ie’ to your address book/safe senders list to ensure delivery of these ticket confirmations.

In a very small number of cases we have noticed an incompatibility between certain web browsers/email systems and the IMMA booking system. If you have any doubt about the status of your booking please email bookingqueries@imma.ie. Emails to this address are checked between 9.30am and 11am Tuesday – Saturday.

Can I still get in if I am running late?
Late comers (5mins+) are not guaranteed entry and may find their seat reissued to standbys. Every effort will be made to accommodate you but there may be standing room only.

Is there a fee?
The vast majority of IMMA’s Talk and Events are free unless otherwise stated.

Is there a deadline to book?
IMMA’s online booking system remains open up to one hour prior to the start time of the live event, unless the event is booked out. Priority booking and Priority seats are offered to IMMA Members.

Does IMMA operate a waiting listing for booked out events?
No, we do not operate a waiting list on free events. Unoccupied seats are allocated on the door on a first come first served basis. It’s advisable to come earlier then the start time to register your name at the door. Please note arriving without a ticket is at your discretion and any availability on the night may be restricted to standing room only.

I’ve made a booking but I have not received a ticket email. Am I booked in?
If you were brought to the Booking Confirmation page on completion of your booking your seat is secure.

An automated email ticket is sent to confirm all bookings, but sometimes it may take a while to arrive or may be caught in your security filter. Please check your bulk/junk/spam folder and also make sure your email account is not full. Please ensure you have typed your email address correctly before submitting and do not request over 10 tickets per booking. You can also add support@imma.ie to your email address book which will avoid the email going into the spam folder.

In a very small number of cases we have noticed an incompatibility between certain web browsers/email systems and the IMMA booking system. If you have any doubt about the status of your booking please email bookingqueries@imma.ie. Emails to this address are checked between 9.30am and 11am Tuesday – Saturday.

How do I change or cancel my booking?
Many of our Talk and Events sell out in advance and we cannot meet demand. If you discover you can no longer attend an event we would ask that you release your ticket so that someone else may enjoy the event in your place.

Please support IMMA in reissuing unused tickets by notifying us at bookingqueries@imma.ie. Emails to this address are checked between 9.30am and 11am Tuesday – Saturday. Your consideration for others is greatly appreciated.

Is my ticket transferrable?
Yes, please use the name of the ticket holder and present their ticket confirmation to secure entry.

Will I be notified of a change of date/time of an event?
Yes. If there are any changes to the date or time of the event in question you will be notified via the email address you have provided at the time of booking.

Date and Time changes are also made to our website and are regularly broadcast on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

How will I find the location of the event on arrival at IMMA?
Signage will be in place to direct you on arrival. Click here for a site plan. Please note that the room may change closer to the time of the event. Any changes will be signalled n the homepage and in signage when you arrive on site.
