New Parking Arrangements
As regular visitors will be aware, parking at IMMA has become a growing problem in the past eighteen months, with Museum visitors often being unable to find a parking space. This has increased significantly since the introduction of the LUAS, with commuters and others leaving their vehicles in the car park for lengthy periods. During The Moderns exhibition visitors had, on a number of occasions, to seek parking on the public roads.
Because of this, the Museum is putting in place from Monday 7 March a carefully-structures payment system, which is being operated by Park Rite. The system is designed to deter long-term parking while at the same time facilitating IMMA visitors with an initial charge of just €1 for the first three hours.
The new arrangement will be monitored carefully over the coming months in order to identify and deal with any unforeseen problems. We very much hope that you will understand the situation in which IMMA finds itself and that this will not detract from your enjoyment of the Museum.
