Studio 8 Gallery/Workshop Session for 15-18 year olds
Saturday 6 Oct, 11am - 2pm

A workshop exploring architectural space and art will be facilitated by artist / architect Blaithin Quinn and IMMA mediator Olive Barrett. The workshop is  based on artist Alice Maher's solo exhibition Becoming. Using Maher's layout model of the exhibition space as a starting point, this workshop will explore how architectural qualities, including light and movement through space, can inform both the location and inception of an artwork. After a short exhibition tour and discussion, each participant will create their own 3-dimensional piece in response to the use of architectural space by Maher in Becoming, with an emphasis on process and experimentation.
