About the Speaker
Fiona Loughnane is a graduate of GMIT, UCD and NCAD. She has worked as an education assistant for the National Gallery of Ireland, as an associate lecturer with the Open University and is currently an associate lecturer with the National College of Art and Design where she teaches in the Dept. of Visual Culture and also with CEAD (the dept. of Continuing Education). She is a member of the editorial committee of 'Artefact' the journal of the Irish Association of Art Historians. Recent publications include 'F.E.McWilliam and Surrealism in Britain' in The Surreal in Irish Art (2011) and 'Power, Privilege and a Little Nostalgia' in Artefact 4 (2010).
