Mark Anstee (UK)Studio 13 Using iconic images from heroic paintings, tomb-sculpture and photography, Mark Anstee works with an accumulation of individually drawn motifs to create monumental pictures. His recent work has been concentrated on developing large-scale temporary drawings live in public museums and galleries. Essentially, Mark aims to explore the need to remember without the rhetoric of permanence. The Process Room On Tuesday 12th April 2005 Mark Anstee began a 12-day drawing in the Process Room at IMMA, Dublin. Working purely from memory: recalling individual poses of human extremis from photography, television, film and history–painting, Mark made an improvised accumulation of drawn motifs directly onto the surface of the Museum wall.
